Ben Zobrist is an American professional baseball player, who was born and raised in Eureka, Illinois. As of 2019, he was the second basemen and outfielder for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball. He joined the team in 2016. He previously played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays/Rays, his first MLB club and where he spent the majority of his career. He briefly played for the Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals. Ben has played in three World Series. He is a two-time World Series champion in consecutive seasons of 2015 with the Royals and 2016 with the Cubs. The three-time All-Star was named the MVP of the 2016 World Series. He married professional Christian singer, Julianna Joy Gilmore in 2005, and they went on to have three children together — a son and two daughters. Julianna filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” in Illinois on May 13, 2019. That was five days after Ben went on “personal leave” from the Cubs on May 8. Around the same time Julianna filed for divorce, Ben filed for legal separation, alleging that Julianna had been “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct which render further cohabitation impossible.”
